Hello to whoever is willing to read this news post. As I am turning 18 in 5 days, I may or may not want to draw adult-oriented artwork once the day I turn 18 arrives. Since I might act on this risk, I will enforce rules regarding engaging with my content. The rules are as follows:

Minors can ONLY interact with my E and T rated works, and should NEVER PM me until they turn 18. I never plan to take a risk with endangering the youth.

If you are a minor wanting to leave a review on my E and T works, you may do that. Just keep the words G-rated.

In the case that I am on an adults-only social media elsewhere, the 18+ account will not be displayed on Newgrounds since minors 16 and up might have access to this site with permission depending on their parents (according to the latest NG Online Safety announcement going in effect soon.)

If every audience plays their part, we can keep being ourselves. So as a reminder to myself and you as well, stay out of trouble, and I'll see you soon! ;)

Hey everybody! It’s ChanChanP, and I would like to make an announcement regarding my life!

I know that I have been very inactive here except for browsing the Art Portal. Starting today, I have a summer job that goes through August. Before my job started, I was focusing on school. My grades were on a satisfactory level, if anyone cares. By the way, 2024 to 2025 marks my last year of high school! I will be a senior, AND I WILL BE EIGHTEEN IN FEBRUARY! I am looking forward toward my future, but I am nervous at the same time. As long as I use my life and coping skills, I can assure myself that I will be okay.

To compensate my abscence from NG, I am planning to do an annual drawing prompt for July. I call it Operating Systems Humanized. It’s where you think of an OS and picture it as a human through drawings. Prompts will be submitted once a day in July so that there is no clutter in the Art Portal. If this prompt turns out to be popular, I might consider turning Operating Systems Humanized into a collab if I receive the permission to do so when I speak to the NG Staff.

I can assure y’all that I am not going anywhere. If I were to be inactive in the future, I will be posting the announcement on my news post. Thanks for reading! :)

Now that I have a week off from school, art will be posted as soon as possible. I need to brainstorm some ideas first. For now have a Meiko V1 box.

Today I was visiting the Animate Archive website for no reason, and the page said that Adobe is in the process of taking the Animate Archive down. I feel slightly distraught.

Yes, Adobe owns the rights to the program. They can do what they need to do. But they are also taking away the curiosity of individuals who want to learn about the Internet back then, and what types of interactivity web-surfers want to experience. And what if a person wants to know what a program was like before the year of 2024, like version 8 for example? That feels like you don’t care about the history of technology.

I understand that technology moves on at some point, for the sake of security and modernism.

Another reason why Adobe is doing this is about copyright infringement. It makes sense as Animate Archive is giving away older versions and serials of Animate (Flash), but the site is somewhat of a preservation site too! Think of the Internet Archive for a second. It is fighting all these years back then and now to be a resource of web history and real event history. Where would we go if it disappeared? If it did, we would have to turn to physical media. Don’t get me wrong. Physical media has its importance too, like the Declaration Of Indepenence and VHS tapes. But physical stuff gets old and not functionable over time. Backups are beneficial!

All in all, us humans cannot do anything to stop Adobe’s power for modern software and from those DAMN SUBSCRIPTIONS. Things have to change at some time, and I can grasp the knowledge of this. Thank you MegaCharlie for curating the Animate Archive along with your contributors. With your love for the past Internet and ours, we can be aware of what came before us.
